Rent-a-Pet: Hands-on Science that Inspires Creative Writing




We have inspired over 200,000 students for 14 years with in-school field trips in South Florida. Our team provides STEAM enrichment presentations with live animals, science experiments and technology. This has given us the unique opportunity work with hundreds of teachers, after-school & camp directors and parents.


When we are invited to bring our live animals,
two facts are consistent:
1. Students LOVE animals –> they want a classroom pet.
2. Pets can be a hassle –> teachers’ plates are already full.
Pets can be messy & smelly.
What do you do with the pet over the summer?
Who cleans the poop?
Will it stay alive, or will there be a devastating conversation
with students followed up with a parent email?

RENT-A-PET gives you the best of both worlds:
1. Students experience a pet for a week. 
2. There’s no extra hassle for you.
A 1-hour in-school field trip is followed by
a 1-week program with live bugs.
(If you’re squeamish, you don’t have to touch them!)
Each student receives a printed interdisciplinary writing
packet customized by grade level along with daily videos.
Our puppet, Wally, will inspire your students to
write creatively about their classroom pet. 🙂
